Yellow and orange warning for 35 provinces: Beware of heavy rain and storms

The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) issued a "yellow" and "orange" warning for 35 provinces, including Istanbul and Ankara. Citizens were asked to be careful and cautious against the negativities that may occur due to heavy rain and storm that are expected to affect most of the country. According to the latest weather forecast report shared by MGM, locally strong and very heavy showers are expected in the inner parts of Marmara, Black Sea, Central Anatolia and the Mediterranean.

It is estimated that the intensity of rainfall will increase, especially in the east of the Black Sea and Marmara. In this context; Heavy rain for Amasya, Çorum, Ordu, Samsun, Sinop, Kastamonu and Tokat; An "orange" code warning was issued for Bolu, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Zonguldak, Bartın and Düzce due to the storm that is expected to be effective with heavy rainfall. It has been reported that rainfall will be in the form of thunderstorms in regions where air temperatures are expected to drop noticeably.

A "yellow" code warning was given for Adana, Ankara, Balıkesir, Bilecik, Bursa, Çanakkale, Çankırı, Eskişehir, Hatay, Istanbul, Kayseri, Kırşehir, Konya, Kahramanmaraş, Niğde, Sivas, Tekirdağ, Yozgat, Kırıkkale, Yalova, Karabük and Osmaniye, and it was emphasized that one should be prepared for local heavy rains. According to the data on the map, the wind; It is expected to reach a speed of 40-60 kilometers per hour on the Marmara and Aegean coasts, and 50-70 kilometers per hour in the east of Central Anatolia and Eastern Anatolia regions. While temperatures in the eastern parts are seen to rise up to 37 degrees, cooling will be effective in the inner parts with the rain. Meteorological officials; He reminded that one should be careful against negativities such as sudden floods, floods, lightning, local hail, sudden strong winds and short-term storms and transportation disruptions.
