Capella Taipei Opens With Skyline Pool and Plume Restaurant

Capella Taipei, the buzziest new hotel opening in the city in over a decade, sits discreetly among office blocks in the tree-lined Songshan neighborhood. Inside, Hong Kong-based architect André Fu's "modern mansion" concept features curved lines, textile art, Art Deco furniture, travertine floors, and a sculptural spiral staircase across 86 cocoon-like rooms. The 14th-floor pool offers skyline views including Taipei 101, while the see-and-be-seen Plume restaurant anchors dining. Beyond the property, Capella Culturists lead experiences from tea farm tastings in Pinglin to boba-making for kids, and the nearby three-story Glasshouse houses three bars, including Tilt, which crafts cocktails from local kumquat, guava, sand ginger, and tangerine.
