While more than 250 firefighters were mobilized to extinguish the fires in the Albertacce and Corte regions of the Haute-Corse province on the French island of Corsica, a total of 570 hectares of land burned in these fires. Approximately 3 thousand people were evacuated due to fires that broke out last night in the holiday resorts of Sables-d'Olonne and Saint-Jean-de-Monts in the Vendee province in the west of the country. More than 13 hectares of cultivation area was reduced to ashes in the fire, which was intervened by approximately 140 firefighters.

More than 10 hectares of land were destroyed in the fire that spread to the camping areas after a vehicle caught fire yesterday evening in the northeast of the city of Nantes. Approximately 150 firefighters and 45 vehicles continue to respond to the fire, from which approximately 200 people were evacuated. A fire broke out in the forest area around Bordeaux-Merignac Airport in the city of Bordeaux, in the Gironde province in the southwest of the country, after noon.

The images shared on social media showed moments when smoke rose around the airport due to the fire. French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez announced during the question session to the government in the National Assembly that 2 firefighters died during the intervention to the Merignac fire. In the statement made yesterday by the French government, it was stated that approximately 40 thousand hectares of land had been burned since the beginning of the year and that this figure exceeded the number recorded in the entire season in 2025.
