The police are investigating illegal hunting in Troms after an eagle was found in a pair of scissors. The police show injuries to the eagle, after it was found trapped in a pair of scissors in Indre Troms.

The eagle was found in Rohkunborri National Park in Indre Troms on 19 July. Police are now investigating illegal hunting and are asking for tips from the public. - Foot scissors of this type are illegal to use and cause the animal great suffering and a long death, says Sigrid Elise Sund, environmental crime coordinator in the Troms police district.

Here the eagle is stuck in the scissors. The video has been shared by the Troms police district. The eagle was alive when it was found, but died shortly after.

The police report that it is unclear how long it was in the foot scissors. - The foot scissors act as a clap trap and it hits blindly. The trap does not distinguish between which animal steps in it, says Sund.

The police are investigating the incident as illegal hunting. After the eagle was found, the State Nature Inspectorate notified the police and the incident was reported. The police have carried out forensic investigations.

The Norwegian Nature Inspectorate has also carried out investigations at the site. There are currently no suspects in the case. The eagle was caught in this illegal foot scissor.
