Spain, France Also Requested Support From Türkiye to Fight Forest Fires, and Two Firefighting Planes Were Sent to France

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that, after Spain, France also requested support from Türkiye to fight forest fires, and two firefighting planes were sent to France. Türkiye is providing air support to France, after Spain, within the scope of the fight against forest fires that have been affecting Europe for days. In his statement on his social media account, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that, in line with the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, two more fire fighting planes were assigned upon France's request for support, following the two fire fighting planes previously sent to Spain.

Yumaklı stated that the ongoing forest fires in Europe once again reveal how difficult it is to fight against fires, and emphasized that Türkiye, with its opportunities and experience, assumes responsibility to protect not only its own forests, but also the forests of different countries if necessary. Turkey sent 2 planes to fight the fires in Spain. Stating that Türkiye responded to France's request for help in a short time after the support it gave to Spain, Yumaklı wished success to the crew who set out for the mission and wished good luck to all the teams who fought selflessly in the field. Yumaklı concluded his statement by saying, "Forests are not entrusted to us; they are the most valuable legacy we will leave to future generations."
