While a girl was rescued by the people on the beach, her mother, father and mother's sister drowned, efforts are continuing to find the missing nephew. The incident took place around 18:00 on the beach of Kulak Mahallesi in Tarsus district of Mersin.

5 people from the same family, who went into the sea to cool off, soon began to be dragged offshore by strong waves. Two people who noticed the situation and went into the sea to help were in danger of drowning and managed to get to the shore with their own means. Upon the notice, Coast Guard Command, Police Department Underwater Group Chief, AFAD, fire brigade, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region.

The daughter of the family, who was in danger of drowning in the incident, was taken to the hospital and treated. Search and rescue efforts to find the missing nephew continue.

SEARCH WORKS CONTINUE Mersin Governor Atilla Toros came to the beach where the incident took place and received information about the work from the authorities. Making a statement about the search efforts, Governor Toros said: "After the drowning report, our teams were immediately directed to the area and the search began. We found that 2 more people went into the sea to save the family of 5. These 2 people managed to get out of the sea with their own means.

Unfortunately, the mother, father and mother's sister from the family of 5 passed away. The treatment of the girl who was taken from the sea continues in the hospital. We have been informed that his health condition is improving.
