Following the brawl in the north of the occupied West Bank in which 4 Palestinians and 2 Israelis died, Netanyahu ordered the recognition of illegal Jewish settlements established on Palestinian lands and the acceleration of the process of establishing new ones.

In a written joint statement following the security meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced a series of decisions that will deepen the occupation in the West Bank and make the lives of Palestinians even more difficult. Netanyahu ordered the recognition of illegal settlements in the West Bank and the establishment of new ones to be accelerated, and asked for the reinforcement of Israeli troops throughout the region. Netanyahu, who ordered the demolition of the house of a Palestinian involved in the incident that started with the arrival of Israelis who usurped Palestinian lands near the town of Tel, also demanded that the Israeli work permits of Palestinians in the region be cancelled.
