Now, the company has taken its backward compatibility efforts one step further. The technology giant officially announced its new backward compatibility program that allows you to play iconic original Xbox games on PC and handheld consoles. Thanks to this feature, which will be available in a limited number of games, you will be able to experience legendary games on your computer.
At first, only 4 games will be included. Blinx: The Time Sweeper Conker: Live and Reloaded Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge Fuzion Frenzy This new process initiated by the company constitutes the first phase of a comprehensive project that will lead to the transfer of more Xbox console games to the computer environment in the future. Initially, four classic Xbox games were made available to PC users as part of early access.
As you can see above, these were announced as Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge and Fuzion Frenzy. Players will be able to purchase and download these productions individually, as well as play them within the scope of all Xbox Game Pass plans without paying any additional fee. Additionally, users who have already owned a digital copy of these games in the past will be able to immediately experience the games on PC or handheld consoles such as Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X without making an additional purchase.
Aiming to preserve the original gaming experience, Microsoft has added a number of modern technical features to the games in order to benefit from the advantages of the computer platform. Thanks to the improvements, players will be able to personalize the graphic settings without disrupting the gameplay mechanics. Added technical innovations include VSync support, up to 4x resolution improvement, filtering, improved anti-aliasing, and full screen and window mode options. It was also reported that the achievement system, which has been requested for a long time by both console and PC players, will be added to these four classic games in the coming months.
