One dead after Central Otago collision
- One person has died following a two-vehicle collision near the Central Otago town of Springvale.
- Emergency services were called to Springvale Road, near Letts Gully Road, just after 9am.

- Hato Hone St John said it responded with two ambulances and treated two people before one was transported to Dunstan Hospital in a moderate condition.
Emergency services were called to Springvale around 9am and found one person dead and two others with moderate injuries. One person has died following a two-vehicle collision near the Central Otago town of Springvale. Emergency services were called to Springvale Road, near Letts Gully Road, just after 9am.
Police said one person died at the scene. Hato Hone St John said it responded with two ambulances and treated two people before one was transported to Dunstan Hospital in a moderate condition. Springvale Road runs between Clyde and State Highway 85, and police advised at 11.19am that it was closed while the Serious Crash Unit conducts a scene examination.
Motorists are advised to follow diversions and expect delays. Earlier, police warned of black ice on roads across the south.
