Senator Rand Paul, who has accused Fauci of covering up a potential lab leak origin for Covid, has his own 2023 book, Deception: The Great Covid Cover-up. Kennedy's publisher, Tony Lyons, said the book briefly hit number 52 on Amazon's bestseller list and remains number one in categories like immunology and vaccinations.

Kennedy disclosed over $450,000 in consulting fees from Skyhorse in 2025, while Paul reported about $90,000 in royalties in 2024. Fauci's memoir, On Call, is a top-10 seller in viral diseases and related categories. Republicans have criticized Fauci for winning a $1 million prize from the Dan David Foundation, which ethics officials allowed him to keep.
