Pirro Brings Evidence to White House to Defend Dropping Pool Case
Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. Attorney for D.C. and a staunch Trump ally, brought a box of evidence to the White House on Monday to convince President Trump she was right to drop a vandalism case tied to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Sources told CBS News the box contained materials exculpating former Olympian David Hearn and others, pointing to shoddy construction rather than malicious actors as the cause of the pool's problems. Pirro, a former Fox News host, has faced criticism from Trump and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum since dropping the case on Friday.
In a federal filing, prosecutors argued the pool's issues stemmed from a botched installation, not vandalism, and that the Interior Department had provided incomplete information. Trump, however, insisted vandals were responsible, saying, I was disappointed in Jeanine Pirro. Really disappointed with Jeanine Pirro.
She folded like an umbrella. Burgum maintained on X that vandals caused repeated damage, citing expert testimony and video evidence.
