Bill for PKK Disarmament Process Named 'Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration'

The name of the bill to be submitted to Parliament for the PKK's disarmament process has been announced as 'Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration.
According to Habertürk, the proposal, open to lawmakers' signatures until 5 p.m. today, is titled 'Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration. PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan called on the group to lay down arms on Feb. 27, 2025, with a text he named 'Peace and Democratic Society.
The PKK announced on July 11, 2025, that it had disarmed, with 30 members burning their weapons in a barrel in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. Three members of Parliament's 'National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission' from the AKP, MHP and DEM Party met with Öcalan at İmralı Prison on Nov. 24, 2025. The meeting's records were published on Parliament's website on Jan.
23, 2026. The commission adopted a joint report on the process on Feb. 18. DEM Party co-chair Tuncer Bakırhan on April 23 called on President Erdoğan to 'seal the peace, saying, 'Mr. President, peace awaits the seal to be placed on it now. The responsibility lies with you as the government.
