An Additional $28.5 Million Will Cover All Remaining Class-action Litigation From Indirect Resellers

Sandoz has agreed to pay $478.5 million to settle allegations from dozens of states and medicine resellers that it conspired to artificially inflate and manipulate generic drug prices, reducing competition and harming consumers. Under the settlement, the company will pay $400 million over seven years starting in 2027 to resolve all remaining state claims in three pending cases, plus about $50 million to states that settled earlier. An additional $28.5 million will cover all remaining class-action litigation from indirect resellers.

Sandoz did not admit wrongdoing. The deal is the latest in a long-running battle between states and major generic drugmakers accused of price-fixing. Previously, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Lannett, Bausch, Apotex, and Heritage Pharmaceuticals collectively settled for nearly $98 million.
