28-Year-old Man Allegedly Under the Influence of Drugs Attacked His Sister With a Soda Bottle in Istanbul's Kağıthane District After She

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, in Merkez Mahallesi. Mert Burak G. reportedly demanded money from his sister, Hülya G., 37, and when she declined, an argument escalated. Hülya G. tried to take the bottle from her brother to prevent harm, but it broke, cutting both of her hands.

During the altercation, she attempted to calm him by saying, "Come, my son, while another person tried to pull him away. After the scuffle, Mert Burak G. left the area. Police and medical teams were dispatched following a report.

Hülya G. received first aid at the scene but refused hospital treatment and did not file a complaint against her brother. Police initiated proceedings, and it was learned that Mert Burak G. had seven prior records for offenses including intentional injury, resisting duty, drug trafficking, and drug use."
