Four-Year-Old Boy Dies After Falling Asleep in Hot Car in Mardin's Mazıdağı Four-year-old Muhammed Aras Temel has died after falling asleep inside his family’s car in blistering heat in the Mazıdağı district of Mardin, southeastern Turkey. The boy climbed into the vehicle, which had been left with its door open, in the rural Ekinciler neighborhood on Saturday and soon dozed off. After he had remained in the car under the sun for a lengthy stretch, his family noticed he was unwell and rushed him to Mazıdağı State Hospital, where doctors determined he had suffered a heat-induced seizure.
He was then transferred to Mardin Training and Research Hospital, but despite all medical efforts, the child died on Sunday. His body was taken to the hospital morgue for an autopsy. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
