Adana Had His Stall Removed After Video Showed Him Harshly Rebuffing a Mother Who Asked to Buy Just Two Lahmacun for Her Son

A street vendor in Adana had his stall removed after video showed him harshly rebuffing a mother who asked to buy just two lahmacun for her son. The incident took place yesterday afternoon in Karasoku Mahallesi in the Seyhan district. According to reports, the woman approached the vendor, identified only as A.D., and asked to buy two lahmacun.
He refused, saying, “I don’t sell fewer than five. When she insisted, he said, “Normally I don’t sell fewer than five, but for the child I’ll give it—don’t pay, go, yet he took the money she offered and put it in his pocket. He then became angry when she asked for a bag, complaining, “You’re buying two, and you want a bag and paper wrapping.
The scene was recorded by onlookers and shared on social media, prompting an outcry. Bekir Kaplan, an advisor to Turkey’s Trade Ministry, said, “We will continue to stand against any behavior that wounds the social conscience and resolutely protect the rights of our citizens. The matter is being closely followed. Seyhan Municipality’s police subsequently removed A.D.’s stall, and A.D. issued a public apology on social media.””””
