Galatasaray's Proposal to Strasbourg Is Understood to Be a €5 Million Loan Fee With a €15 Million Mandatory Purchase Option
Galatasaray's move for Julio Enciso has taken an unexpected turn, with the Paraguayan playmaker's former coach emerging as a rival suitor. Gary O'Neil, who managed Enciso at Strasbourg during the second half of last season, has since taken charge of Ipswich Town and is keen to be reunited with the 22-year-old No. 10. Galatasaray's proposal to Strasbourg is understood to be a €5 million loan fee with a €15 million mandatory purchase option. However, the French club are holding out for €35 million for Enciso.
The attacking midfielder impressed on loan at Strasbourg last season, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists in 42 appearances. Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has made signing a No. 10 a priority this summer and has allocated a significant budget. He is reportedly intent on securing a marquee name in the mould of Victor Osimhen, which is why the club are taking their time to make the right choice.
