He Went 12-8 With a 3.53 ERA in 33 Appearances Last Year

The Chicago Cubs acquired pitcher Clay Holmes and outfielder Tyrone Taylor from the New York Mets in exchange for prospect Jefferson Rojas, per the New York Post's Jon Heyman. Holmes, a top trade candidate, posted a 4-4 record with a 2.39 ERA in nine games this season before fracturing his fibula in May. He went 12-8 with a 3.53 ERA in 33 appearances last year.
Taylor, in 67 games, hit 10 home runs with 28 RBI and a.241 average. Holmes is nearing a return, and the deal bolsters the Cubs' rotation and outfield depth. The Mets gain a promising prospect in Rojas.
