Strong winds and heavy thunderstorms are expected in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland at the start of the new week, according to the German Weather Service (DWD). Meteorologists forecast partly gusty winds, with stormy gusts possible in exposed locations. Skies will be a mix of clouds and increasing sunshine, with highs between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius.
Already in the night before Monday, showers are expected to move through the region, with isolated lightning and thunder. From Monday afternoon, the DWD anticipates individual, sometimes heavy thunderstorms alongside showers, accompanied by stormy gusts, isolated heavy rain, and hail. Away from the storms, strong to partly stormy gusts are also expected, with highs of 21 to 25 degrees.
After the turbulent start to the week, the weather is expected to calm down. Tuesday should be partly cloudy to sunny with highs of 21 to 25 degrees, with only isolated showers, mainly in the north. Wednesday is forecast to remain mostly dry with maximum temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees.
