🇹🇷 TürkiyeOYAK Çimento Signs UN Global Compact

By joining the compact, the cement producer confirmed its commitment to universal principles on human rights, labor standards, the environment, and anti-corruption on a global level, in line with its motto 'Green is the New Gold' and its drive to accelerate investments toward a carbon-neutral future. The company treats sustainability not merely as a set of environmental performance indicators but as an integral part of its business model and long-term growth strategy. OYAK Çimento continues its work toward a 2050 net-zero target approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and conducts its sustainability and integrated reporting practices in line with internationally recognized standards and frameworks.
In 2025, the company invested 3.49 billion Turkish liras in environment- and low-carbon-focused projects, allocating 85.6 percent of that sum to renewable energy projects. It also commissioned the Beypazarı Solar Power Plant in April 2026, one of Turkey's renewable energy projects built by an industrial manufacturer at a single location exclusively for its own consumption. The company accounts for roughly 30 percent of the cement sector's total alternative fuel use by mass.
Operating under the TCC Group Holdings umbrella with the CIMPOR brand in international markets and the OYAK Çimento brand in Turkey, the group aims to increase its contribution to sustainable development and create lasting value across the entire value chain. OYAK Çimento Country CEO Murat Sela said the company has passed another international milestone in line with its vision of leading the sector's green transformation and shaping the production model of the future. 'Our participation in the UN Global Compact is a clear indication of our unwavering commitment to our 2050 Net Zero target and the added value we bring to sustainable development, Sela said. 'We will continue to take responsibility for the future and create sustainable value in line with internationally accepted principles.
