A car plowed into pedestrians on a sidewalk in Istanbul's Beykoz district on Saturday, injuring six people, including the driver. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Fevzi Pasa Street in Beykoz Merkez, when the driver lost control of the vehicle for reasons still unknown. The car, with license plate 34 GZ 2127, veered onto the sidewalk and came to a stop only after crashing into the entrance of an ice cream shop.
Six people, including the driver, were injured in the crash. Upon receiving reports of the incident, medical, fire, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured were given first aid at the site before being transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals.
The accident caused heavy traffic congestion on the street. An investigation into the crash is ongoing. The exact cause of the driver's loss of control has not yet been determined.
