Real Betis Travel to the Ciutat De València Full of Confidence After a Perfect Start to the Season

Manuel Pellegrini's side have taken six points from six, beating Real Sociedad and Valencia by a single goal each, the latter decided in the final minutes thanks to a strike from Pablo García. Just days after winning at Mestalla, the green-and-whites return to Valencia to face Levante UD, who will be looking for their first win of the campaign in front of their own fans. Betis, meanwhile, want to keep their perfect record and start building an early gap at the top of the table.

The most recent meeting between the two sides at the Ciutat de València ended 2-2. In that match, played in mid-September 2025, Levante took the lead through goals from Iván Romero and Etta Eyong, but Betis fought back to rescue a point with strikes from Cucho and Fornals. That game also marked the first meeting between the clubs since Levante's relegation in 2022. That season, Betis capped a historic campaign by winning the Copa del Rey, while Levante finished 19th and dropped out of the top flight. Levante have shown in recent years that their stadium can be a difficult place for Betis to visit.

Before Betis's last win at the ground, Levante had recorded three consecutive thrashings: 4-0 in 2019, 4-2 in 2020 and 4-3 in the 2020-21 season. Betis responded in 2022, winning 4-2 with a brace from Nabil Fekir and goals from Edgar and William Carvalho, while Dani Gómez scored both home goals. In total, of the 24 official meetings at the Ciutat, Levante have won 12, Betis nine, with four draws.

Pellegrini's side now have the chance to close that historical gap. Levante will try to use home advantage to open their account, while Betis will look to return from Valencia with another three points to stay near the top of the table. After Mestalla, the green-and-whites face their second consecutive Valencian challenge, hoping to smile again away from Heliópolis.

That 2022 season saw Levante relegated to the second division, where they remained until 2025, while Betis lifted the Copa del Rey. The last Betis victory at the Ciutat de València came four years ago, in that 2022 campaign.
