At least one person was killed and three others injured in the southern Ukrainian region of Odessa following overnight Russian attacks, regional governor Oleh Kiper said on Telegram on Friday. Five grain transporters burned out and three more were damaged, Kiper reported, adding that all fires had been extinguished. Earlier, the administration of the Izmail district, which hosts the country's Danube ports, had warned of Russian drones.

Transport infrastructure facilities were damaged in the strikes. Russia's Defense Ministry said its troops had also hit a transshipment terminal in the Ukrainian port of Mykolaiv, as well as a berth for tankers and unloading points for fuels and lubricants. Near the settlement of Myla, about five kilometers west of the capital Kyiv, several people were killed in the evening after a fire triggered by explosions.

The prosecutor's office launched an investigation into "official negligence. According to Russian reports, a munitions depot was the target of the attack. Regional chief Serhiy Koretskyi pointed to a similar incident in early July on the southwestern outskirts of Kyiv.

"In the fifth year of the war, the same mistakes are being made, that is criminal negligence, he said.
