Norwegian Premier League stars will wear black armbands this weekend to honor King Harald following his death, broadcaster Viaplay has confirmed. The Norwegian players requested permission from the league to wear the armbands in their upcoming matches. Erling Braut Haaland and Jørgen Strand Larsen are both in action Friday evening, starting up front for their respective clubs when Manchester City visits Crystal Palace.

Later this weekend, Sander Berge, Oscar Bobb, Sindre Walle Egeli, Jens Hjertø-Dahl and Kristoffer Ajer will also play. Martin Ødegaard's Arsenal do not play until Monday. All the Norwegian Premier League stars were part of the national team at this summer's World Cup.

After the tournament, the national team players went directly to the Royal Palace to meet the royal family.
