🇬🇧 United KingdomMoyes Tight-lipped on Grealish Return Rumours
Everton manager David Moyes has refused to comment on speculation linking Manchester City winger Jack Grealish with a return to the Merseyside club, where he spent last season on loan. Speaking at his weekly press conference ahead of Everton's trip to Bournemouth, Moyes said: "We are in the recruitment business and we are looking to see if we can bring some players in if possible. But there's no guarantee and to name one person would be wrong.
Jack's not at our club. He was brilliant for us, a great boy, but not for us to talk about because he's at another club. Grealish has reportedly chosen Everton as his preferred destination if City decide he is surplus to requirements before the transfer window closes.
His loan spell at Everton was cut short in February after he required surgery on a broken foot. Prior to the injury, he registered two goals and six assists in 20 Premier League appearances for the Toffees. Grealish is into the final year of his City contract and has been linked with a move away, with Sunderland and his boyhood club Aston Villa also reportedly interested.
Moyes also dismissed talk about the future of Illiman Ndiaye, reportedly a target for City, adding: "We're certainly not in a hurry to sell our best players, that's for sure. James Garner could push for a starting place after coming through the midweek Carabao Cup victory over Preston, while Tim Iroegbunam remains sidelined. Moyes is keen to maintain the away form that saw Everton rank seventh on their travels during the 2025/26 campaign.
"We hope that we can follow it up and do as well as we did last year away from home," he said. We always travelled with a great away support and they got some really good days last year. Everton have made a strong start to the season, beating Crystal Palace last weekend before seeing off Preston in the Carabao Cup.
Following Saturday's clash with Bournemouth, Everton are due to host Manchester United next weekend. Grealish spent last season on loan at Everton after joining from Manchester City.
