Iran Warns No Oil Sales in Region If Its Exports Blocked

Ghalibaf reposted a statement on his X account on July 22, referring to U.S. attempts to hinder Iran's oil exports. "The equation of war is clear. No one will be able to sell oil in a region where we cannot sell oil, he wrote.

"As long as Iran's infrastructure is not secure, no infrastructure will be secure. The security of the Strait of Hormuz depends on the absence of American forces in the region. We have said many times that the strait will not return to its previous state, Ghalibaf added. The remarks come amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington over Iran's oil exports and the strategic waterway, through which about a fifth of global oil supply passes.
