Taiwan Has Centered on 130 Supermicro Servers Equipped With Nvidia's High-performance B300 Artificial Intelligence

Nine people, including an Nvidia employee in Taiwan, have been charged in the case. According to prosecutors, the suspects built a multi-layered scheme involving approved official buyers, server rentals, and various data centers. On paper, everything appeared to remain in Taiwan, but the devices' actual route was China.

The suspects shared forged documents showing the servers' end user was in Taiwan and pledged the products would not be sent to prohibited regions. However, 74 of the 130 Nvidia AI servers were delivered to Chinese customers either directly or via Indonesia, Japan, and Hong Kong. The sales generated approximately 600 million new Taiwan dollars, or $18.4 million, in revenue, highlighting significant trade circumventing the restrictions.

The operation unraveled with the remaining 56 servers. When the group tried to transport these systems through a Japanese company, Taiwan customs demanded a high-tech export license. Prosecutors say the forged documents were detected at this point, and the investigation expanded.

The nine individuals, including the Nvidia employee, face charges of breach of trust and document forgery. The requested prison sentences range from 1.5 to 6 years.
