The suspect, identified as Simon Y., injured a police officer with an iron bar during the incident on Monday, August 24, at around 9:30 p.m. According to the information obtained, authorities received a report that a person had climbed onto high points in the area and was throwing materials found around him. Police teams were dispatched to the scene upon the report. Upon arrival, officers saw Simon Y., who was determined to be a foreign national, standing on top of a waste container in the hospital garden.

Holding an iron bar, Simon Y. continued throwing iron, stones, and other materials at police officers and bystanders after seeing the teams arrive. While officers tried to get him down, they could not intervene due to the iron bars in the suspect's hands. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene following the police teams' report.

As firefighters used pressurized water against Simon Y., police officers M.D. (33) and A.A.K. (25) moved in to subdue him on top of the container. Simon Y. struck officer M.D. on the head and various parts of his body with the iron bar. Simon Y. slipped and fell during the police intervention and was taken into custody.

An investigation was launched against him on charges of 'resisting to prevent the performance of duty' and 'intentional injury. After his procedures were completed, Simon Y. was released by a prosecutor's decision. It was learned that the suspect was handed over to the Deportation Center in Arnavutköy for deportation.
