To Convince Skeptical Parents, the Suspect Used His Connections to Show Forged Official Documents From the Central Party Headquarters

A resident of Sariwon, North Hwanghae Province, North Korea, has been arrested for running an elaborate scam that defrauded wealthy parents by promising to place their children in powerful government positions, sources. The suspect, a former official from the North Hwanghae Provincial Party Committee personnel department, was arrested in mid-August. He approached affluent families in the Sariwon area starting in March, claiming he could secure jobs for recent university graduates in elite institutions such as the party, the State Security Bureau (now the Information Bureau), and the Public Security Bureau, as well as their affiliated trading companies and guard posts.
To convince skeptical parents, the suspect used his connections to show forged official documents from the Central Party headquarters in Pyongyang. He also arranged meetings at safe houses where an accomplice posing as a senior party official conducted fake job interviews.
