Sarawak Prioritises Connectivity Improvements in Limbang and Lawas Through Sedc-seb Collaboration

Sarawak’s telecommunications modernisation agenda is prioritising efforts to address connectivity disruptions in northern Sarawak, particularly in Limbang and Lawas. Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the collaboration between the Ministry of Utilities and Telecommunications, Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SEDC) and Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) would help improve digital connectivity and government services. He welcomed the collaboration between SEB and SEDC to improve digital connectivity, particularly in northern Sarawak involving Limbang and Lawas, calling it a necessity as Sarawak focuses on the digital economy.
He expressed hope that through the collaboration between SEDC and SEB, internet connectivity can be improved, which is important for enhancing government services. Awang Tengah, who is Bukit Sari assemblyman, said this after witnessing the exchange of Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the Digitisation of Connectivity in Limbang and Lawas, here yesterday. He said the issue needed to be addressed immediately to bridge the digital divide between urban and rural areas.
