🇮🇱 IsraelSyria's Southern Quneitra Province With Military Vehicles, Conducted House Searches, and Shelled an Area in the Damascus

The report on Al-Ikhbariya said Israeli occupation forces entered the village of Brika in the southern countryside of Quneitra with military vehicles. Israeli soldiers also carried out house search operations in the village of Rasm al-Ajraf in the region. The report added that Israeli forces fired two artillery shells between the town of Beit Jinn and the al-Tilal al-Humur area in the western countryside of Damascus.
No information was provided on whether the military activity and artillery fire caused any casualties or property damage, and Syrian authorities have not yet made an official statement on the matter. The southern provinces of Quneitra and Daraa have frequently been the scene of Israeli operations, including raids, searches, detentions, and the establishment of military checkpoints. Israeli warplanes most recently carried out eight airstrikes on the runway of Abu al-Duhur Military Airfield in Idlib on August 18, causing damage to infrastructure.
Israel has occupied most of the Golan Heights since 1967. Following the fall of the Baath regime at the end of 2024, Israel claimed the 1974 Disengagement Agreement was void and occupied the buffer zone on the Syrian side and the Syrian flank of Mount Hermon. Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa said on July 26 that they were working to sign a security agreement with Israel with the participation of international actors, stating, If an agreement is reached, it will pave the way for a comprehensive peace without compromising Syria's rights over the occupied Golan. Anlaşma sağlandığı takdirde, Suriye'nin işgal altındaki Golan üzerindeki haklarından taviz verilmeksizin kapsamlı bir barışın önü açılacaktır.
