The body of a missing Chinese student was found in the home of a university instructor in South Korea, who is now suspected of killing her and dismembering her remains. The 25-year-old woman, identified only by her surname Wen, had attended a graduation ceremony at Daegu Catholic University on August 20 before moving on to Daegu. She was expected to return to China on August 23, but when her family and friends could not reach her, a missing person report was filed.

Police deepened the investigation and determined the young woman was last seen near Dongdaegu Station. After further work, officers raided an address in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, where they found her lifeless body. Police said the body had been dismembered, with some remains left in different locations.

Search efforts continued at various sites, including a waste incineration plant, to find the missing parts. According to police, the suspect wore the woman's clothes after the murder, took her cell phone, and went to Dongdaegu Station. The suspect is alleged to have then turned off the phone, changed clothes in a restroom, and returned home.

He is also accused of trying to mislead the investigation by posing as the young woman's boyfriend when reporting her missing. Daegu Catholic University confirmed the detained individual was an instructor at the university. He taught rehabilitation therapy and neuroanatomy, and was scheduled to teach courses on human anatomy and musculoskeletal system diseases and treatment in the coming term.

The university said the suspect and the young woman knew each other, and because they were from the same country, they had met before. China's Consulate General in Busan confirmed the woman's death, and South Korean police continue their investigation into the exact cause of the murder and the suspect's actions during and after the incident. The instructor, in his 30s, is accused of cutting the woman's body into pieces and wearing her clothes to go to Dongdaegu Station.
