🇹🇷 Türkiye20,000-Ton Capacity Licensed Warehouse and Hazelnut Trade Center Project in Ordu, Turkey, a Key Step Toward a Roughly 651.5 Million Turkish

The project, prepared under the leadership of the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, was submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Technology's Local Development Initiative Incentive Program with all required documents and reports. If the ministry approves the investment following its evaluation, the permitting, tendering, and construction processes are expected to begin. The initiative, championed by Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler, was prepared by the municipality's subsidiary Ordu Tarım Ürünleri Lisanslı Depoculuk A.Ş. The project aims to strengthen Ordu's leading position in Turkey's hazelnut production through modern storage, registered trade, and value-added agricultural infrastructure.
Sancar Eser, chairman of the board of Tarım Ürünleri Lisanslı Depoculuk A.Ş., said the investment will add value to the provincial economy for years. "Ordu is the world's most important hazelnut production center. This project is not just a storage facility; it is a strong trade and logistics infrastructure that will bring producers, traders, industrialists, and exporters together in the same system," he said.
We believe this investment, prepared with the support of all stakeholders in our region, will add value to Ordu's economy for many years. We thank our chambers and exchanges, private sector representatives, and everyone who contributed during the application process. The facility, planned for the Altınordu district, will be a fully automated, high-tech licensed warehouse with 20,000 tons of capacity.
The project is expected to create direct employment for 30 people. The state-of-the-art facility will serve as an integrated center guiding the region's hazelnut trade, allowing producers to store their products safely under modern conditions, preserving quality, expanding registered trade, and easing producers' access to financing. During the application process, regional cooperation was also demonstrated.
The Ordu, Ünye, and Fatsa Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Commodity Exchanges prepared official support and intent declarations outlining the investment's expected contributions to the regional economy. The project is intended to ensure that agricultural products, especially hazelnuts, are stored healthily, safely, and in line with standards, and sold at their true value.
