The incident occurred around midday in the Doğankent neighborhood of the Yüreğir district. G.G. (33), who runs the bridal shop, had the store doused with gasoline and set alight while an employee was inside. Fire crews and gendarmerie were dispatched to the scene after nearby residents reported the blaze.
Firefighters extinguished the flames quickly, but wedding dresses and evening gowns in the store were damaged. G.G. filed a complaint against A.G. (38), the man she is in the process of divorcing, holding him responsible for the arson. Gendarmerie arrested A.G., who was already subject to a restraining order.
An investigation into the incident has been launched. The suspect's identity at the time of the attack was not immediately confirmed, but authorities acted on the victim's accusation.
