University IR Forum Explores AI, Data-driven Innovation in Higher Education

The forum, themed 'Data Governance for Sustainable Higher Education Innovation, drew around 450 officials from universities and higher education-related institutions nationwide. The event was co-hosted by KAIR and Hanyang University, and co-organized by KAIR and the Hanyang IDEA Center. The forum was designed as a venue for professors, researchers, and staff from university Institutional Research (IR) teams, along with officials from higher education institutions, to share data-driven decision-making approaches and directions for higher education innovation.

Sessions covered topics ranging from the role of university IR in the age of artificial intelligence (AI) to data-based university innovation, performance management, admissions data analysis, and the use of integrated IR data. The event opened with remarks by Park Joon-myung, Secretary General of KAIR, a welcome address by Park Soo-mi, President of KAIR, and a congratulatory speech by Lee Ki-jung, President of Hanyang University. In his remarks, a speaker emphasized that the goal is not merely collecting data, but helping universities ask themselves the most honest questions.
