1047 Games Ends Development on Empulse and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, Cites Low Revenue for Dedicated Servers

1047 Games announced it is ending development on Empulse and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, saying neither game generates enough revenue to support the ongoing cost of dedicated servers.
The reality is that neither game is generating enough revenue to support the ongoing cost of dedicated servers, 1047 Games said in a statement on X. We have continued covering the costs because we wanted to give both games every opportunity to grow, but we have reached the point where that is no longer sustainable. We have loved working on these games, playing them, and building them with this community, and we wish we could continue supporting them. Despite the end of development, neither game will be shut down.
Both Empulse and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded have been reworked to support peer-to-peer play, meaning players will only find matches when others are online and hosting games through a server-hosting browser. This mirrors the fate of the original Splitgate, whose dedicated servers went offline on August 29, 2025, and entered a similar P2P environment. Splitgate: Arena Reloaded originally launched as Splitgate 2, entered beta in June 2025, and returned under its current name in December 2025, featuring Portal-like mechanics, Halo-esque shooting, and Quake-like movement, plus a 60-player battle royale mode and a map creator called the Lab.
