🇸🇷 SRSuriname Issues Wanted Notice for Suspect in Dutch Film Producer's Disappearance in SR

The suspect, Ryan T., a 42-year-old resident of Paramaribo, is considered by police and prosecutors to be dangerous with firearms and a flight risk. The Public Prosecution Service suspects T. of a long list of criminal offenses, including murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault, and participation in a criminal organization. Authorities hope that circulating T.'s description will lead to tips about his whereabouts that could result in his arrest.
The 52-year-old Leysner disappeared on Saturday, August 15, after leaving his home for a work meeting in the Saramacca region, west of the capital Paramaribo. His family heard nothing from him afterward. His burned-out car was discovered in a swamp.
According to police, no body has been found, Starnieuws reports. After Leysner's disappearance, four suspects came into view, three of whom have already been arrested: a Cuban couple and a Surinamese national. It is now clear that T. is the one still being sought.
He was questioned after the disappearance but was not yet designated as a suspect at that time, Surinamese media report. Leysner joined the board of Rudisa in Suriname, a large international concern dealing in food products and insurance, which also publishes a newspaper and owns a radio and TV station. The company took over football club SV Transvaal ten years ago.
Suspect T. was appointed as the new chairman of the football club earlier this year. He was previously married to Warsha Sardjoe, the current director of Rudisa and daughter of founder Dilip Sardjoe.
