Mardin Province Saved a 5-Year-old Boy's Life After the Child Choked on a Piece of Candy, Using the Heimlich Maneuver in a Dramatic Rescue

The incident occurred around midday at Çavuşlu İlkokulu (Çavuşlu Primary School) in the rural Çavuşlu Mahallesi neighborhood of Midyat district. The young boy was at the school with his family to register for kindergarten when a piece of candy became lodged in his windpipe. Hearing the commotion, school principal Mehmet Oral rushed outside and immediately performed the Heimlich maneuver on the distressed child, successfully dislodging the candy from his airway.

The child's health condition was reported to be good following the incident. The entire rescue was recorded by the school's security camera, capturing the tense moments as the principal worked to save the boy's life.
