Four people were taken to hospital on Tuesday after a camping stove exploded at Lake Immeln in southern Sweden, according to Kristianstadsbladet. A woman in her 35s is seriously injured, the press service at Central Hospital in Kristianstad said on Region Skåne's website. The accident occurred when students from Önnestad Folk High School were on an excursion in Breanäs.
Principal Lena Berg confirmed that four people suffered burn injuries during the trip. "We have a tradition of a hiking week." We have had it for many years, Berg said. "It was an accident.
My priority now is to take care of the participants and the teachers involved." The school has gathered those who were on Tuesday's excursion in a local facility and implemented crisis measures, the principal said. The injured were taken to hospital following the explosion at the lake.
