Liliana Ruse, a Digi24 journalist and cancer patient, responded Tuesday evening to statements by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and the head of Romania's National Health Insurance House (CNAS), Horațiu Moldovan, about the shortage of cytostatic drugs. She highlighted the financial burden she faces to secure her own treatment. Moldovan claimed Monday that "in the last year and a half there have been no discontinuities for oncological drugs.

Ruse challenged this assertion, detailing her personal experience with the ongoing shortages. Ruse also addressed Bolojan, who said that only a small number of patients need a specific drug for a certain type of cancer. She questioned this characterization, asking whether patients had a choice when they fell ill.

"We had a choice when we got sick? Ruse said, pushing back on the implication that the issue affects only a limited group. Her remarks came during a Tuesday evening broadcast on Digi24. The journalist's comments underscore the ongoing concerns among cancer patients in Romania about access to essential medications, despite official assurances of supply continuity.
