🇩🇪 GermanyOnly Half of All Employees in Germany Receive Occupational Pension Provision (Betriebliche Altersvorsorge).

Now a proposal has been put forward that could change that — and also boost returns. There is finally movement in pension policy. The government has just reformed private pension provision, with a successor to the Riester pension.
For the statutory pension, an expert commission has submitted proposals that the government wants to decide on in the autumn, even though it is currently arguing over individual elements such as the pension at 63. The proposal aims to increase the number of employees covered by occupational pension schemes, which currently stands at just 50 percent. If implemented, it could also lead to higher returns for savers.
