The General Assembly of the Parliament will discuss the amendment to the law that includes student amnesty this week. Accordingly, those who have not previously benefited from student amnesty will be able to continue their higher education in the new academic year. With the regulation, the titles and degrees of those who received titles and degrees with theses produced by someone else will be withdrawn.

NEW REGULATION ON STUDENT AMNESTY This week, the General Assembly of the Parliament will discuss the proposal for amendments to the Higher Education Law and some laws, which include regulations regarding student amnesty and higher education. With the proposal, those who were dismissed from higher education institutions for certain reasons and who did not benefit from student amnesty before will be able to start their education in the 2026-27 academic year, if they apply. COMPLETING THE INTERNSHIP EDUCATION.

POSSIBILITY: With the proposal, those who have been successful in theoretical and practical courses, but have not started or failed to complete practical training or internship training, will be given the opportunity to complete their practical or internship training. HEAVY SANCTIONS FOR THOSE WHO PRINT AND WRITE A THESIS Writing a thesis on behalf of someone else will also be considered an independent crime with the proposal. Accordingly, those who use publications and works produced by others, which are not based on personal effort and knowledge, in appointment, promotion, title and degree, and those who produce these contents will be punished with dismissal.

If this crime is committed in the academy, the penalty of dismissal from profession and withdrawal of degree and title will be imposed. CAMPUS CAN BE OPENED ABROAD State higher education institutions in Türkiye can open campuses, academic units and programs abroad by the decision of the President. In order to meet the need for medical specialization education quota, professor, associate professor, doctor lecturer and research assistant positions will be created in 48 universities.
