Syria's Foreign Ministry condemned Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz for illegally crossing the country's international borders, calling the move a clear violation of national sovereignty and territorial integrity. In a statement, the ministry said Katz's illegal entry into Syrian territory constituted a blatant provocation and a breach of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the obligations of the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement. The statement said the Syrian government calls on the international community to fulfill its legal and political responsibilities, urging the occupying forces to halt their repeated violations, withdraw immediately and completely from Syrian territory, return to the 1974 border line, and respect Syria's sovereignty. Katz had visited Israeli soldiers stationed on Mount Hermon, located within Syrian borders, prior to the ministry's condemnation.
