ANSA Media Partner for 2026 Edition of Otranto Journalism Festival

The 2026 edition of the Caravella del Mediterraneo journalism festival will be held in Otranto, organized by Tommaso Forte in partnership with the Municipality of Otranto, with ANSA as media partner. On September 4, the 'Caravella del Mediterraneo' award will be presented to: Lucio Caracciolo (founder and director of Limes magazine), Iacopo Luzi (White House correspondent), Armando Franza (commander of the Guardia di Finanza's naval air unit in Puglia), Lucia Esposito (journalist under police escort for her investigations into the camorra), Alhassan Selmi (Palestinian journalist), Claudio Antonelli (deputy director of 24Ore NextMed), and Leonardo Zellino (Tg1 correspondent). A special press freedom award will be given to American freelance journalist Shelly Kittleson, who was kidnapped in Baghdad last March.

Among this year's guests is Vittorio di Trapani, president of the Italian National Federation of the Press. The challenge is to hold firm to the eternal rules of journalism - the telling of truth, to be pursued in often indecipherable scenarios - while remaining anchored to the times and situations of current affairs, explains festival patron Tommaso Forte.
