Armenia Have Taken a New Step in Energy Diplomacy, With Officials From Both Countries Meeting in Lachin to Discuss Options for Connecting

According to a statement from Azerbaijan's Cabinet of Ministers, the meeting in Lachin brought together representatives of Azerbaijan's Energy Ministry and the state energy company Azerenerji, along with Armenia's Regional Administration and Infrastructure Ministry and the Electricity Energy System Operator company. During the talks, the parties discussed possibilities for the import and export of electrical energy between the two countries, as well as potential options for linking their energy infrastructures at the state border for this purpose. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has previously announced that an energy corridor could be established along the Zangezur Corridor route, extending through Armenian territory to Nakhchivan, and from there to Turkey and Europe.
