Istanbul Police Detain 13 in Fake Apartment Listing Scam in Türkiye

The operation was carried out in coordination with the Istanbul Police Department's Public Order and Intelligence branches as part of an investigation into qualified fraud. Investigators determined that the suspects, operating mainly in the Esenyurt district and other areas, posted listings offering apartments at attractive prices, then collected deposits from those who contacted them, leaving many victims. Simultaneous raids were conducted in Istanbul, Sinop, and Giresun, leading to the arrest of the 13 suspects, who were taken to police headquarters for processing. The suspects face charges related to qualified fraud, and the investigation is ongoing.
