As the Harvest Period Approaches, Producers' Preparations in the Vineyards Are Accelerating, and the Season Is Expected to Be Productive

Harvest season has begun in the 200-year-old vineyards of Üzümlü district in Erzincan, Turkey, where the geographically registered Cimin grape is grown. The black seedless table grape, prized for its unique aroma, tart taste, and low sugar content, is in demand not only in the domestic market but also from Europe and the Middle East. Üzümlü district, home to approximately 10,000 decares of vineyards, produces an average of 6,000 tons of Cimin grapes annually.

The crop makes a significant contribution to the regional economy, with demand coming from European and Middle Eastern countries alongside domestic consumption. The vineyards, which have existed for nearly two centuries in Üzümlü, are among the important centers of Cimin grape production. The viticulture culture passed down from generation to generation in the district is kept alive today through traditional production methods.

Thanks to the region's unique climate and soil structure, the Cimin grape stands out from other varieties with its thin skin, distinctive aroma, and tart taste. As the harvest period approaches, producers' preparations in the vineyards are accelerating, and the season is expected to be productive. The Cimin grape continues to be one of the important income sources for producers and reaches tables as one of the region's agricultural and cultural values.
