🇹🇷 TürkiyePolice in Izmir, Türkiye, Detained 26 Suspects in an Operation Targeting Alleged Islamic State Propaganda and Activities on Social

The operation, coordinated by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was carried out by teams from the provincial police department's counter-terrorism and intelligence branches. It aimed to detect and expose the activities of the DEAŞ terror organization. Authorities said the suspects were believed to have made posts promoting DEAŞ on social media accounts and to have previously carried out activities on behalf of the group.
The simultaneous operation, targeting 27 suspects, began at 6:00 a.m. local time. During searches of the suspects' addresses, authorities seized a large number of digital materials and books that were subject to a collection order. Efforts to capture one remaining suspect, who is at large, are ongoing. The suspects are accused of engaging in propaganda for the terror group online and of past activities in its name.
