The 83rd Venice International Film Festival has added "Naza, a new documentary by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, to its main competition lineup. The film, shot at night on Tel Aviv rooftops, is described in its synopsis as revealing "in detail the systems behind Israel's calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. Abraham and Szor are two of the four co-directors of "No Other Land, which won the Oscar in 2025. The festival runs from September 2-12, 2026. "Naza, produced by The Guardian and James Wilson (JW Films) with executive producer Jonathan Glazer, Oscar winner for "The Zone of Interest, will screen in the Sala Grande on September 10. The film is based on revelations first published by the Israeli-Palestinian magazine +972 Magazine, the Hebrew-language daily Local Call, and The Guardian between 2023 and 2025. The title "Naza" references a military acronym, as The Guardian notes, "used euphemistically by Israeli intelligence to indicate the number of civilians expected to be killed in an airstrike.
