Steps to Strengthen the Domestic Front and Regional Security Topics Are Also on the Agenda in Türkiye

Turkey's cabinet will convene in the eastern province of Bitlis, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as part of the 955th anniversary commemorations of the Malazgirt Victory. The meeting will be hosted at the Presidential Complex in the Ahlat district. The cabinet session, the third to be held at the Ahlat Presidential Complex, will focus on the latest developments in the fight against terrorism and regional security, in line with the 'Terror-Free Turkey' initiative.

Following the parliament's approval of related legislation, the process of the terrorist organization's dissolution and disarmament, along with recent field developments, will be assessed. President Erdogan will be in Ahlat for a two-day program, during which he will also meet with Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahceli. A one-on-one meeting between the two leaders is planned.

The program includes a visit to the Ahlat Seljuk Square Cemetery after the ceremonies. Steps to strengthen the domestic front and regional security topics are also on the agenda. President Erdogan is expected to make a statement following the cabinet meeting.

The Malazgirt Victory commemorations in Ahlat have already begun, with Erdogan set to attend the events before the cabinet convenes. The cabinet previously met in Ahlat on two occasions, making this the third time the meeting is held there.
